With the use of pendant light, you can easily create the mood and texture of lighting that you prefer for any space. Unlike fixed light sources, this lighting system can be suspended over any area in the house, and can be relocated or repositioned with just a little adjustment. You can hang pendant lights from various heights-you can have them dangling from a high ceiling, or you could choose to have them closer to any part of the home you wish to be highlighted, such as a work area, a piece of artwork or a decorative vignette.
With pendant light fixtures, achieving all of this is easy. You would have to determine the right height of the bottom of the fixture at every location that you would install the lights. And once you figure that out, you shall have to fit your pendant at the corresponding heights. In this context, it helps to note that if you want the light to spread around, then fixing the light high-up helps. On the other hand, if you want better focus on particular locations such as in the study table example, fit the bottom of the fixture at relatively lesser heights.
Installing dimmers is easy and you can do it yourself without having to call in an electrician if you're simply replacing an existing light. You want to start by shutting off the power to the room on the circuit box. Ideally, you want to use a circuit tester to make sure the power is off to the light before touching the wiring. Assuming the power is off, start by removing the old fixture. If you're replacing a ceiling fan with a pendant, remove the blades first. It makes the process much easier.
