So you've heard of outdoor pendant lighting. It is a relatively new style of lighting even for the people who have been in the lighting industry for years. Not all people pay attention to lighting the outside lighting of their houses. These neglected parts can change the overall looks of a house when lighted properly. The main purpose of lighting exteriors was to provide security in the past. However, there has been a drastic change in the way outdoor lighting is seen nowadays. In addition to the security, the ability for pendant lighting to create the desired atmosphere has been phenomenal in making the pendant lighting popular.
Pendant lighting is perfect to hang over a pool or billiard table or an end table. Do not hang low level pendant lights in places of high traffic, since they will only create obstructions as people pass by. However, with pendant lighting hanging safely above, you do not need to bang into the big, hulky lamps at the corners; and you can even do a lot of creative things with the free corner spaces, like install a new set of shelves for the display of your marvelous show pieces.
Yet another style of pendant lighting that seems to never go out of style is the Colonial. This type of lighting features a shade that looks like a lantern with a candle inside. A similar style is the Storybook style, which is made of cast iron and hangs from a heavy chain. Both of these styles tend to look better out of doors but they were often found indoors in the seventies if you are going for that kind of "horse drawn carriage" reference in your décor.
